Katie Porter is a clarinetist, bass clarinetist, and frontwoman for the Brooklyn-based rock band Lady Lucille once described as "sprawling, slowburn country" by Pitchfork Magazine. Lady Lucille has performed at Ladyfest Chicago, Joe's Pub, South by Southwest, Zebulon, the Cake Shop, Monkeytown, and various other clubs in the New York Area. Lady Lucille was the backing band for "A Tribute to Connie Converse" produced by Lau Daurette recordings featuring Marissa Nadler and David Garland and provided an evening-length score for the theater production "LaSanta" produced by the Sintroica Theater Company. Katie also composed a thirteen minute rendition of "The Sea" for the Jessica Gaynor Dance Company. Lady Lucille has toured with Chicago pop-viola sensation Anni Rossi and the Los Angeles based group the Mad Gregs. She is an active performer of experimental chamber music as well.
